Solar and safety window film

Non-switchable film for heat rejection, glare control, privacy and glass safety retention.

  • Cuts solar heat gain and cooling load
  • Glare control for screens and displays
  • Safety film holds glass together on impact
  • The lowest cost option per square metre

What it is

Fixed film, applied to existing glass, in four broad families: solar control for heat, glare control for screens, privacy for permanent obscuring, and safety film that holds the glass together if it breaks.

Why it is often the right answer

If the brief is really about heat, glare or safety rather than switchable privacy, fixed film does more per riyal than any switchable product. We would rather specify this and be right than sell a switchable job that underdelivers on the actual problem.

Heat performance

For Riyadh’s west and south elevations, a spectrally selective film is usually the best balance: it rejects most of the solar infrared while passing enough visible light that the space does not need more artificial lighting.

Frequently asked questions

Will solar film make the room dark?

Not necessarily. Spectrally selective films reject a large share of the heat while passing most of the visible light, so the room stays bright.
