Consultation rooms, private clinic

The brief

A clinic fit-out where the internal rooms were glazed to keep the floor plate feeling open and to let the reception team see room availability at a glance. Patient privacy during consultations was non-negotiable.

What we did

Six rooms, six independently switched zones, each controlled from inside the room. The clinician switches to private on entry and the glass clears when the room empties.

Constraints worth noting

Independent zoning was the cost driver here rather than area. Six separate circuits and six controllers is a materially different job from 42 square metres switched as one, and it is worth being explicit about that at quotation stage rather than at handover.

We also staged the work over two weekends so the clinic never lost more than two rooms at a time.

Outcome

Reception can read room status from the desk without opening a door, and patients get a hard privacy boundary rather than a blind someone forgot to close.
