Suite bathrooms, boutique hotel

The brief

A boutique property refurbishing twelve suites, looking for a feature that guests would notice and remember without enlarging the footprint.

What we did

A switchable glass wall between the bedroom and the bathroom in each suite, clear by default so the room reads larger on entry, private on a control that sits within reach of both the bed and the bathroom door.

What we changed after the first suite

The initial control position was inside the bathroom only. We fitted one suite, walked it as a guest would, and moved a second control to the bedside before completing the remaining eleven. Building a mock-up suite first was the single most useful decision on the job.

Handover

We briefed housekeeping and maintenance directly rather than leaving a manual. A feature nobody on the operating team understands becomes a fault ticket the first time it behaves unexpectedly.
